BTPS APPOINTS STEVEN DICKSON AS TRUSTEE DIRECTOR
The BT Pension Scheme (‘BTPS’ or the ‘Scheme’) has announced, with immediate effect, the appointment of Steven Dickson as Member Nominated Trustee Director selected by BT’s recognised trade unions and the National Federation of Occupational Pensioners (NFOP).
Steven takes over from Ben Marshall, who retired as a Trustee earlier this month after 8 years of service.
BTPS is the one of UK’s largest company pension schemes with over £35 billion of assets and c.258,000 members. Each year, the Scheme pays out c.£2.8 billion in pension payments to the 212,000 members of the Scheme who are retired and their beneficiaries.
Steven had a 32-year career at BT, holding various senior positions, latterly leading BT’s Global Contract Assurance programme focusing on major contracts in the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific. He was a member of the leadership team at BT Group Business Services before retiring in 2021.
He was previously a Trustee on the BT Retirement Savings Scheme and was formerly part of the Prospect Trade Union National Executive Committee.
He is Chair of the Prospect Scotland regional branch and is a member of the NFOP.
Commenting on his appointment, Jill Mackenzie, Chair, BTPS said: “Steven brings extensive expertise from his long career at BT and his Union work. He also has a detailed knowledge of pensions and I’m very pleased to be welcoming him to the Trustee Board.”
Steven Dickson said: “I look forward to working with all our stakeholders to deliver the Scheme’s objectives and long-term strategy for the benefit of members.”
